Research tells you where to push. This is how we push.

Six things we run for clients. Each one works best aimed at a target the research has already picked out: a member, a committee, a board, a deadline.

Coalitions

Coalitions built from people who already know the member

A letter with forty logos on it lands on a staffer’s desk, and nobody in the office recognizes a single name.

What we do

We start from the member you need and work backwards. Who already gives to them. Who already lobbies them. Who sits on a board with them, and who they return calls to. Those are the people we recruit, and we can usually name them before anyone makes a call.

What you get

A coalition the member already knows, assembled before the hearing rather than during it. A list of who made which call, and what they heard back.

Advertising

Ads aimed at your own list, not a lookalike of it

Most advocacy media buys reach an audience that resembles yours. Your budget pays to reach strangers.

What we do

We advertise to the people already in your database: members, donors, past visitors to your site. Then we report exactly how many of them we reached, how often, and how many came back to the site or took the action.

What you get

A member base that knows what the fight is before you ask them to act, and a report your board can read in one sitting.

Podcasts and video

Legislators, regulators and stakeholders on the record

A member will say things in a thirty-minute conversation that will never appear in a press release.

What we do

We produce the interviews from the booking through the edit. Your organization hosts. The guest talks about the issue in their own words, and we handle the studio, the questions and the distribution.

What you get

Your members hear it. So do the colleagues you are trying to move, who tend to watch what other members say.

Campaign websites

One place for the argument and the evidence

When a bill moves, a reporter, a staffer and a supporter all go looking for the same thing: the case, and what it rests on.

What we do

We build one site that holds both. The argument on top, the sources underneath, and the action one click away. Built in days, for the week it matters.

What you get

Not a brochure. A site that is still accurate at the second hearing, and that staff can cite without calling you first.

Social media

The argument where legislators now have it

Members, staff and stakeholders argue with each other in public now, and the people you need are reading it.

What we do

We run the accounts, write the posts, and put the right fact in front of the right reader at the right hour. We have used this to help stop a bill.

What you get

A presence that staff see before the hearing, and a record of what was said and when.

Materials

Leave-behinds built for four minutes between hearings

The person reading your handout has four minutes, no background on your issue, and three other handouts in the same folder.

What we do

We write and design the one-pagers, infographics and handouts for that reader. One point per page. A number where a claim would go. The source at the bottom.

What you get

Complexity is the enemy of a yes. Material that is understood in one pass, and that survives being photocopied.

And under all of it

The research that picks the target

Who funds the member you need, who lobbies them, which board seats are about to open, and what happened to your line in the budget. Four tools, built from California’s own filings.

How we use them

We do not allege anything. We organize what California has already disclosed, every figure keeps its source, and it is written for review rather than accusation.
