Your members want to know what the dues bought. We help you show them.
Most associations are a board, a small staff and a lobbyist. We build the coalition, the campaign and the organization behind the advocacy.
Russell runs two of these.
He is executive director of the California Rental Housing Association and of the California African American Water Education Foundation. Not the advocacy. The organization itself: the board, the budget, the members and the calendar.
That is the vantage point we bring to yours. We know which questions a board asks in a bad quarter, and what members want to hear when a bill dies.
The coalition and the campaign
Who funds the members you need, who lobbies them, and the supporters who already have a line in. Then the ads, the site and the materials, all pointed at them.
What the board hears
A candid read on the odds before the budget is committed, and a report your board can act on. If the votes are not there, we say so, and we say it early.
From a smaller association to a real one
The bylaws, the committee structure, the PAC and the member drives that make an association worth lobbying for, and worth joining.
What it looked like for the California Rental Housing Association.
“We were a smaller association looking to develop a presence in Sacramento. Today, we are the State’s leading voice for rental housing providers in the Capitol and at the ballot box, thanks to Highview Strategies. Their political foresight helped us prepare for threats and secure major policy changes for our members.”
Sid LakireddyFormer President, California Rental Housing Association
Your lobbyist keeps the advocacy. We run the organization behind it, and we do not lobby the Legislature directly. That arrangement does not bend.
We will watch the seats that govern your members, whether or not you hire us.
Tell us which boards and commissions write and enforce your members’ rules. We will tell you when a term is expiring, what the statute requires of whoever fills it, and whether it needs Senate confirmation. A vacancy report means you are already late. A term expiring is a year of warning.
Tell us about your association.
The bill, the board, the budget or the members. We are glad to talk it through before anybody signs anything.
